There is no specific rate of House Allowance in the existing laws of Bangladesh. With the Reference of Bangladesh Income Tax Ordinance 1984 (Rules 33A), 50% of the Basic Salary can be considered as House Rent. On the other hand, Minimum wages in Ready Made Garments Sector, Government advice to keep provision as 40% of basic salary as a “House Rent".
